Event Speaker:  Karen Kramer, Esq.

Karen Kramer formed Kramer Workplace Investigations (formerly Kramer Wiese) in 2000 and since that time, has been providing independent investigations to public agencies in California. Karen has conducted over 750 workplace investigations for public sector employers. Additionally, Karen has extensive experience conducting investigations involving public safety personnel, in compliance with the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights. She also has conducted numerous investigations involving elected officials and Council / Board appointed employees. At the end of each investigation, Karen makes factual findings utilizing her skills, knowledge and experience as an employment law attorney. Ultimately, it is her goal to ensure that the investigation conducted is timely, objective, thorough and complete; that the report submitted is comprehensive and well-written and evidences a good-faith investigation; and that the decision makers have all of the relevant facts they need to appropriately respond to a com-plaint or to address allegations of misconduct.

Karen graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1992, and has been licensed to practice law in the State of California since December 1992. In 1994, she began working at Porter, Scott, Weiberg & Delehant (currently Porter Scott) in Sacramento, where she was responsible for all aspects of employment related litigation.

Karen is member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) Board of Directors and currently serves as the Vice President of AWI.
